2. Asia: A Continent Catching Up
Perhaps the largest structural growth market for B&C Speakers lies in Asia.
In Japan alone, more than seven new major arenas will open by 2027 – including K-Arena Yokohama (20,333 seats, opened in 2023), LaLa Arena Tokyo Bay (10,000 seats, 2024), Aichi International Arena in Nagoya (17,000 seats, 2025), and Osaka Arena (18,000 seats, planned for 2027) as the largest arena in western Japan. One of the drivers is a reform of the Japanese basketball league requiring all first-division clubs to operate their own modern venues.
South Korea is investing with equal intensity: Seoul Arena (18,269 seats, opening in 2027) is being built in Seoul, Korea's first dedicated K-pop concert venue, which according to the city government is expected to attract 2.5 million visitors annually. In Hong Kong, Kai Tak Sports Park (50,000 seats) opened in 2025. New major event venues are also being developed in Bangkok, Jakarta and Singapore.
3. USA: Billions for New Venues
North America is also investing heavily in new event infrastructure. Live Nation plans to develop 20 new major venues by 2026, which are expected to accommodate an additional 6 to 7 million fans annually. At the same time, multibillion-dollar stadium projects are underway: the new Tennessee Titans stadium in Nashville (cost: up to USD 2.4 billion, opening in 2027), the Buffalo Bills stadium in Orchard Park (opening in 2026), and numerous other arenas and amphitheatres specifically designed to accommodate a broad range of concerts and entertainment events.
This is particularly relevant for B&C Speakers: through the acquisition of Eminence Speaker in 2023, the Group now has a direct manufacturing presence in the USA – with an established brand name that has been rooted in the North American market for decades.
The company estimates the total market for loudspeaker systems at approximately USD 4.0 billion (2025). However, only a small portion of this relates to the transducer market (approximately USD 700 million). With revenue of approximately EUR 100 million, B&C Speakers holds a global market share of around 16%, while according to the company, it has a market share of approximately 36% in equipment for concert halls and live shows.
Financial Performance
Over the past 10 years, the company has achieved revenue growth of approximately 10.5% annually – despite the massive downturn during the COVID-19 pandemic – while operating profit margins have consistently remained between 18% and 20%:

Imagine listening to your favourite song in a stadium – you look up and think to yourself, "What great speakers!" Yet what very few people know is that the technology inside most likely comes from a small company in Florence.
B&C Speakers S.p.A. is the hidden global market leader behind the big names in the professional audio industry. Owner-managed, technologically superior – and established in the market for almost eight decades.

The Product: The Invisible Technology Behind Great Sound
B&C Speakers does not manufacture the loudspeaker cabinets you buy in an electronics store – it produces the essential components inside them. The company specialises in electroacoustic transducers: high-precision components that convert electrical signals into physical sound. Anyone buying a professional loudspeaker from JBL, QSC, Meyer Sound or EAW is, in many cases, unknowingly buying B&C technology.
The product portfolio is entirely focused on professional applications:
High-frequency transducers: The core of clear, directional high-frequency sound – essential for sound reinforcement systems in concert halls, stadiums and arenas.
Low-frequency transducers (woofers/bass drivers): Providing the physically perceptible power of low frequencies – from clubs to open-air stages.
OEM components: Supplying core technology to the world's largest manufacturers of professional audio systems.
B&C serves two strategic channels simultaneously: the OEM segment – with long-term supply contracts with major system manufacturers – and the branded segment, where B&C sells under its own name to technicians and integrators worldwide. The OEM business provides volume and predictability; the branded business delivers margins and visibility. A combination that hardly any competitor pursues as consistently.

The History: From Florence to Stages Around the World
Florence, 1944. Roberto Coppini earns his degree in electrical engineering. Together with his brother-in-law Fernando Borrani, he founds BBC Elettroacustica Professionale the following year – named simply after the initials of their family names. The company, which started in a small workshop in Tuscany, would develop over the decades into one of the leading specialists in the global audio industry.
The most important milestones on the road to global market leadership:
1945: Founded as BBC Elettroacustica Professionale in Florence – first sound reinforcement systems for public spaces, cinemas and theatres.
1970s/80s: Rock 'n' roll and pop music change the world – and with them the demand for powerful sound reinforcement components. B&C grows alongside the live music boom.
1993: Roberto Coppini's son Lorenzo takes over responsibility for sales and marketing; the company is renamed B&C Speakers S.p.A.
2007: IPO on Borsa Italiana – raising capital for international growth. Lorenzo Coppini becomes CEO.
2009: Opening of the new 10,500 m² factory in Bagno a Ripoli near Florence.
2017: Acquisition of Eighteen Sound and Ciare – strategic expansion of the portfolio.
2023: Acquisition of Eminence Speaker LLC (Kentucky, USA) – entry into the American musical instruments market and establishment of a global manufacturing presence.
Lorenzo Coppini: From a Family Workshop to Global Market Leadership
Coppini grew up in a household where his father Roberto would talk about sound fidelity, frequency response and diaphragm geometry in the evenings. In 1993, he took over responsibility for sales and marketing in his father's business – with a clear objective: internationalisation. Under his leadership, distribution structures were established in Europe and the USA, the "B&C International" brand was developed, and the foundation for today's market leadership was laid. In 2007, he became CEO.
In 2021, Coppini was awarded the title "Cavaliere del Lavoro" – an honour bestowed by the Italian President on individuals who have made "outstanding contributions" to the Italian economy.
Through his holding company Research & Development S.r.l., Coppini currently owns approximately 52.7% of the company's share capital. Most recently (November 2024), he purchased additional shares worth approximately EUR 2.2 million at a price of EUR 16.00 – the shares are currently trading at EUR 13.25!
"We have known and respected B&C for around 30 years. When I decided it was time to retire leaving no family members at Eminence, B&C was my first choice as a buyer. It was always my family's goal to leave Eminence in good hands — hands that we were sure would protect the reputation of Eminence, along with its employees, suppliers, and customers long into the future."
- Rob Gault, Chairman of Eminence Speaker LLC, on the sale to B&C Speakers in September 2023
Competitive Advantages: Why B&C Cannot Simply Be Replicated
In the professional loudspeaker components market, B&C Speakers is not just one provider among many – it is the benchmark against which others are measured. What distinguishes the company from competitors such as Celestion, RCF or Asian OEM manufacturers:
80 years of technological development: B&C relies on proprietary methods such as Finite Element Analysis to optimise diaphragm geometry and voice coils – a knowledge advantage that cannot be replicated overnight.
OEM customer retention: Once a manufacturer has integrated B&C transducers into its system architecture, it rarely switches suppliers. The technical dependency created through years of joint product development forms a natural competitive barrier.
Multi-brand portfolio: With B&C Speakers, Eighteen Sound, Ciare and Eminence, the Group serves different price points, regions and market segments (professional audio, musical instruments, alarms).
Global presence: Main factory in Florence, distribution centres in the USA and Brazil, and manufacturing facilities in Kentucky and Dongguan. This enables both European quality manufacturing and local flexibility – an advantage further strengthened by the reshoring debate in North America.
In an industry where a loudspeaker failure during a pop concert can be catastrophic, B&C Speakers serves as a guarantee of reliability and a technology leader!
The Market: Driven by Live Entertainment
Every concert that takes place. Every new arena that opens. Every airport that upgrades its sound systems. All of these require electroacoustic drivers – and therefore the world needs B&C Speakers.
The underlying drivers are structural in nature and can be divided into four areas:
1. The Live Entertainment Boom
The concert industry is experiencing a historic upswing. Live Nation, the world's leading concert promoter, reported record revenue of USD 25.2 billion for 2025 – an increase of 9% compared with the previous year. A total of 159 million fans worldwide attended concerts through the Live Nation platform, 5% more than in the previous year. Particularly noteworthy: for the first time in the company's history, international markets surpassed the USA in attendance – a clear signal of the globalisation of the live entertainment industry.
"In 2025, the bond between artists and their global fan bases reached new heights, fueling another year of double-digit growth. As artists continue to unlock untapped markets and headline the world's most iconic stadiums, we've built momentum that carries us into a record-breaking 2026."
- Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation Entertainment, February 2026

Table 1: Valuation scenarios for B&C Speakers S.p.A.
A comparison with its closest relevant competitor, RCF – also an Italian manufacturer of professional audio systems – illustrates B&C's added value: industry experts estimate RCF's EBIT margin at 8–12%. B&C achieves roughly twice that level.
The company's operational success can be explained by three structural factors:
First, B&C has low capital intensity – its Florence factory is highly automated, with the majority of investments directed towards R&D (10% of revenue) rather than expensive new production facilities.
Second, its proprietary technology provides genuine pricing power – OEM customers pay premium prices for custom-developed drivers that cannot easily be substituted.
Third, its order-based production model generates high capital turnover with relatively little working capital tied up.
The result is high margins and sustainable returns on capital of 20%!
The Risks
We see the following risks to future growth and the development of profitability:
Eminence integration: The acquisition was strategically sound – but bringing together two manufacturing cultures (Florence and Kentucky) under one roof requires time and management capacity. In the short term, this puts pressure on margins.
Cyclicality of the live entertainment market: A global shock such as a pandemic or a deep recession could dampen demand for new sound reinforcement systems. B&C remained profitable during the crisis.
Currency exposure: With approximately 90% of revenue generated outside Italy and a primarily euro-based cost structure, B&C is exposed to EUR/USD exchange rate movements. Currency fluctuations can affect margins.
Customer concentration in the OEM segment: A small number of major customers account for a significant share of OEM revenue. If one of these customers were to switch to a competitor, the short-term impact would be noticeable.
Geopolitics (China risk): Manufacturing operations in Dongguan face increased risks in the event of a further escalation of the US-China trade conflict.
These risks are real but manageable given B&C's market position. Nevertheless, these factors influence our valuation and growth scenarios.
Valuation Scenarios 2030 – Our Own Estimates
Our assumptions are deliberately conservative – for two reasons:
The assumed net income margin of 14% is clearly below the margins actually achieved in recent years: B&C Speakers reported net margins of approximately 17–18% in both 2023 and 2024. We therefore deliberately assume that integration costs related to the Eminence acquisition, increased competitive pressure and investments in growth will weigh on margins over the medium term.
The assumed revenue growth of 6% annually in Scenario 1 is only slightly above the expected market growth of approximately 4–5% annually in the professional loudspeaker segment (industry forecasts through 2030). In other words, B&C would hardly need to gain any market share in Scenario 1 – simply growing alongside the market would be sufficient. Scenario 2, by contrast, assumes that the company can grow faster than the market thanks to its premium positioning – an assumption that is certainly supported by Lorenzo Coppini's and B&C Speakers' track record to date.
The current dividend yield of just over 5% provides an additional buffer to the expected total return, supported by the strong balance sheet and cash flow generation. However, we conservatively assume a long-term dividend yield of 3%.

Conclusion
B&C Speakers S.p.A. is a holding in our OHP Unternehmerfonds.
B&C Speakers is what we call a "Hidden Champion": a global market leader that hardly anyone knows – even though its products deliver the best sound in concert halls and stadiums around the world.
We see a management team that backs its own convictions with capital, a brand built on decades of engineering expertise, and a growth strategy consistently focused on quality and synergies.
The current valuation, at a market capitalisation of approximately EUR 145 million, appears to us to be an exceptionally attractive entry point for a long-term investment.
